Across the Basin, folks held marches and rallies in honor of Martin Luther King, Junior.

Hundreds of people turned out in Odessa.

The festivities kicked off at the Southside Senior Citizens Center.

Winners of the Martin Luther King essay contest spoke at the event then the freedom march got underway.

People held signs and chanted as the made their way to Woodson Park.

Monday is the 25th anniversary of the first Martin Luther King holiday.

King would have turned 82 on January 15th.
