ODESSA - Prominent Odessa businessman Houston Copeland will be laid to rest later this week.
Copeland died on Sunday at the age of 81.
A family visitation is scheduled Wednesday from 6p.m. to 7p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services are being held Thursday at 1p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Odessa on north Lee.
The burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
If you've lived in the basin for a while, you are familiar with Copeland's face.
The accomplished businessman opened up his first insurance agency in Odessa in 1967.
He created the largest insurance business in the West Texas area.
His granddaughters were a big feature of his commercials in town.
Copeland ended his affiliation with State Farm 36 years later and went on to open the Houston and Lisa Copeland Insurance Agency with his wife.
