A hometown kid is now heading up the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah school district.
The school board will voted Thursday night to hire Clarke Boyd as their superintendent.
He'll start on January 31st.
Boyd is currently the superintendent of the Holliday school district near Wichita Falls and actually graduated from Pecos high school.
He also worked as a principal in Greenwood and Odessa.
The school board gave Boyd a three year and five month contract, so he'll head up the district until June of 2014.
The previous superintendent, Santos Lujan, resigned last year after a swell of anger from the community over his firing of a popular football coach.
