Former Midland ISD Secretary Sentenced for Stealing Money from MISD

MIDLAND - A former Midland ISD secretary will spend more than a year and a half in prison for stealing money from the school district.

Anette Fitzhugh was sentenced to 19 months behind bars this past week.

She'll also have to pay back more than $75,000 in restitution.

Fitzhugh stole the money from the Midland Freshman School by writing checks to herself.

It was caught by an internal audit.

She'll spend three years on supervised release once she gets out of prison.
