He's being sent to Mexico to help save their species.

A New Mexican gray wolf is going south of the border for a breeding program.

The male wolf from the Living Desert Zoo in Carlsbad was flown down earlier this month.

He'll be paired with a female wolf.

New Mexico officials say no wolves have been bred in Carlsbad since 2005 and the breeding is important to help save the species.
