West Texans aren't just rushing to find that perfect present. They're also looking for Christmas cash and one of the ways people are easing the cash crunch is by selling scrap metal. One business NewsWest 9 talked to has people lined up out the door looking to unload some precious metal.
"It's been extremely busy today," Olga Guerrero with the CMC Recycling, said.
No she's not talking about the mall, scrap metal shops were just as busy, if not more, they say their location has been filled with people.
"You don't need to throw it away if you can get money for it," Resident, Issac Salgado, said.
Issac Salgado was one of many who paid a visit to make a little extra dough for this weekend.
"It's the easiest way if you have stuff to recycle to get cash," Salgado said.
Even a small piece of metal can go a long way this holiday season.
"I'm going to use it for Christmas for my kids," Salgado said.
In some places the line was out the door and they say this is pretty normal for the holidays.
"December usually stays pretty busy but like I said, it's the busiest day of the year," Guerrero said.
But line or no line, people were determined to make some extra pennies.
