Three Arrested in Odessa Drug Raids

ODESSA - Three people, two men and one woman, have been arrested after a year-long investigation by the Odessa Police Department.

Odessa police, Homeland Security officers and the SWAT team served warrants Friday morning at two homes in the 2100 block of Redbud and at Alfredo's Paleteria on West University. The operation started around 8:00.

Police say their search uncovered marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy along with $37,000. The three arrested were Blanca Stella Cortez, Alfredo Aquirre Cortez and Albert Cortez. All face drug charges. Police say additional arrests are pending.

Officers spent the day combing through the two homes and the fruit store. Police said they also removed papers and documents. They even removed a safe from one of the homes.

ECISD Police told NewsWest9 they helped set up a perimeter around the homes Friday morning, because they are near both Reagan Elementary and Bonham Junior High. Operations were never affected at either school and classes ran normally.
