OREGON - A Monahans truck driver is dead after a big rig wreck in eastern Oregon.

45-year-old Christina Maria Cook died in the crash on Saturday.

She was the co-driver of the semi.

According to Oregon State Police, the 18-wheeler, loaded down with 40,000 pounds of frozen food, was headed east on Interstate 84.

That's when the driver, 47-year-old David Ramsey, lost control on the icy roads.

The semi hit a barrier, slid back across the road and crashed through the guardrail.

Officers believe Cook was in the sleeper cab of the truck at the time of the accident.

Rescue crews couldn't get Cook's body out of the wreckage until the next day because of the dangerous conditions.
