WEST ODESSA - The power is back on in West Odessa after more than 3,400 customers were left in the dark on Tuesday morning and it's all thanks to overloaded power lines.
The lights went out just after 6:30a.m.
ONCOR says a big reason for the sudden surge in power use out in the county during Monday night's bitterly cold weather.
With all the heaters running, in addition to everything else, it was more than the lines could bear.
The power company tried to ease the load by switching the burden to a stronger source but didn't get it done in time.
The blackout lasted until about 9:30.
