A Howard College student is catching everyone's eye with her pictures. She never thought her work would attract attention from others. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and for 19-year-old Hilary White, pictures have become her life.

"I want to do this professionally and have my own photography studio," White said.

So Hilary started taking pictures two years ago and like any other student, she posted them on Facebook. But she never expected to get anyone's attention.

"Cindy Smith approached me and said if I wanted to do a photo blog," White said.

So Hilary agreed and started a photo blog on the life of a college student at Howard College. She captures moments that others might not get a chance to see.

"Poker games, making s'mores, dodge ball. People never know about that if it weren't for the blogs," White said.

Hillary goes out to games and just anything that goes on at the College. She takes pictures from the student perspective and shows that Howard College has more to offer than just classes.

"My roommate actually told me before she came here, she looked at my blog. Wow, Howard College looks like a cool place I can see what goes on here," White said.

And parents are also really like seeing what their kids are up to.

"They really like to see things that kids are doing, parents enjoy looking at that," White said.

She has even caught the eye of other schools like Coahoma who like the idea of showing what's going on at the school.

"It's cool another school is looking at my blog. I didn't show it to them and they thought it was a good idea," White said.

Hilary hopes that when she leaves Howard College someone takes over because she thinks it's important for others to know what's going on.

"It's an inside view, outside of the college, it's a chance to see what College is like," White said.

Hilary plans to get an associate degree from Howard College and continue furthering her education at a bigger university.
