After more than six months, police catch up to a man accused of running what became known as the grandparents scam in the Basin.

38-year-old Phillip Wayne Coley was arrested last week in Hampstead, North Carolina.

He, along with 42-year-old Kevin McElroy are accused of running the scam on elderly victims in the Basin.

Police say Coley would pretend to be a grandson or nephew who needed cash because of an emergency, then a fake friend would be sent to pick up the cash.

McElroy was arrested back in March.

But Coley, who we're told stole the ID of Ronnie Tingen, was in the wind until the cops caught up with him last week.
