A State Trooper, who grew up in Greenwood, died after crashing his patrol car near the town of Post.
28-year-old Jonathan McDonald died on Tuesday night on his way to an accident scene.
Investigators say he lost control of his patrol car and struck a culvert.
McDonald joined the Department of Public Safety in 2008 and was stationed in Post.
He is survived by his wife and a six-month-old daughter.
Both have family in Midland.
Funeral arrangements have been set for 2:00p.m. on Friday at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock.
