We all know texting behind the wheel can be deadly.
Now one Midlander is working to permanently put a stop to it.
State Representative Tom Craddick filed legislation on Wednesday that would ban texting while driving.
House Bill 243 will make it illegal to text, send e-mails and instant messaging.
26 other states have already passed similar laws.
Monday was the first day state lawmakers could pre-file legislation for the upcoming session in January.
