Three Killed, Four Injured in Accident East of Kermit

DAWSON COUNTY - A head-on collision outside of Kermit left three dead, including a two year old child and four others severely injured.

The accident happened late Friday night on State Highway 302, about 10 miles east of Kermit.

DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, an SUV traveling east on Highway 302 drove into the opposite lane, slammed into a car and rolled over.

That crash killed the driver of the car 24-year-old Joel Ramos from Kermit, along with the two year old passenger, Christian Ramos.

Two of the other passengers in that car, one of them a four year old, are both in critical condition in Lubbock hospitals.

The driver of the SUV also died, 30-year-old Amanda Jane Henderson, from Wink, died at the scene. Her two passengers, including a seven year old, are both in stable condition.

Authorities tell NewsWest 9, most of the passengers in both cars were not wearing seatbelts.
