MIDLAND - New information on the murder of a Midland man. His mom and brother have been cleared of killing him.

Murder charges were dropped against 48-year-old Birdie Cooks Mitchell and 24-year-old Jarvis Mitchell.

They were accused of killing 29-year-old Weldon Cooks, Mitchell's son.

Investigators say their stories matched up with the evidence proving they didn't do it.

However, the dad, George Mitchell is still charged in the murder.

Police found Weldon Cooks on his parents porch back in June.

He had been shot in the chest.

He died the following morning at the hospital.

Police found a shotgun, under the couple's bed.
