MIDLAND COUNTY - There will be no results regarding the creation of the Midland County Freshwater District. NewsWest 9 has learned, some people were mistakenly allowed to vote.

You'll remember, only one person was eligible to cast their ballot for those propositions.

Election officials really aren't sure what to do.

So they've contacted the Texas Secretary of State's Office to let them know about the mistake and to try and figure out how to fix it as soon as possible.

As we've reported, only voters living in a particular plot of land just west of the airport, were eligible to vote on the three propositions.

But only one voter lives there and election officials tell NewsWest 9, he has already voted early but so have other voters who were not eligible to vote on the issue.

These are the three propositions:

  • Proposition one calls for the creation of the Midland County Freshwater Supply District.

  • Proposition two calls for the selection of five supervisors.

  • Proposition three calls for the issuance of up to 375 million dollars worth of revenue bonds to help develop it.

There will be no results on the propositions and there's no telling how long it will take to have results.

Election officials are working with the State Secretary's Office to figure out a plan of action.
