HOBBS, N.M. - The murder rate in Hobbs this year is now more than those of Odessa and Midland combined, that's after a murder overnight.

Police were called out to an apartment in the 500 block of north Burk.

That's where they found 23-year-old Donnie Burrows with several stab wounds.

Burrows was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital but he died during surgery.

Burrows' murder marks the city's 11th homicide of the year.

At this point, police have very little information to go on so they're asking anyone who might know something to call them.
