MIDLAND - Good scares for a good cause. This time of year, the house at 5102 Daventry Place becomes a House of Horrors.

"A couple of blocks, people were walking to get here," Brittany Hamilton, the owner of the house, said.

For the last several years, neighbors have been putting on this haunted house taking donations for the Midland Police Department.

"They will use it either for a new vest, or new guns, or just something to protect them," Hamilton said.

Last year, they raised more than $400. This year, they hope to make even more.

They say it takes days to put everything up, but it helps to have friends to play the parts.

"Well, I put on my face, I take an arm, and whenever they enter I make it look like I'm sawing off the thigh," Chase Cochran, a performer in the house, said.

It may send shivers down your spine, but the family says they hope to provide a safe option for Trick-or-Treaters and their parents alike.
