Big Rig Takes Out Traffic Light in Midland

MIDLAND - Midland work crews are assessing the damage after a big rig took out a traffic light on the south side of town.

The accident happened at the intersection of Front and Garfield around 9:00a.m. Thursday morning.

City officials tell NewsWest 9, a big rig cut the corner too sharply, snagged the signal pole and pulled it down.

The pole fell on top of a car.

There weren't any injuries.

Crews brought in a portable traffic signal until the traffic pole can be replaced.
