BIG SPRING - You don't have to travel to the Holy Land to experience it. It's been brought to Big Spring.
"Many people felt blessed while they are going through it. We want to provide it in our own town," John McCullough, Director of Missions, said.
That's why the Crossroads Baptist Association decided to bring the Tabernacle Experience to Big Spring. More than 120 volunteers from different churches have worked on this project for months to put it all together.
"The objective is to help reach people that don't understand the Tabernacle and what it represents," McCullough said.
The Tabernacle Experience brings visitors face to face with a life size replica of the Tabernacle of Moses. People get to take a private narrated tour through the seven interactive stations.
"It's a real emotional experience for a lot of people, they reflect what the bible teaches the symbolism of the Tabernacle and what points to Christ," McCullough said.
So far they have seen more then 1,500 people from West Texas and even New Mexico and for Big Spring residents, like Helen Gladden, the Tabernacle in Big Spring has a been a life changing experience.
"I don't think anyone can go through the experience and be the same one he/she was before," Gladden said.
