Odessa Man Found Guilty of Murder

ODESSA - Guilty of murder and life in prison. That's the verdict of an Odessa man, accused of killing his wife in 2008, during an exorcism gone wrong.

Jan David Clark took the stand Thursday, one of only two witnesses called by the defense. During closing arguments, District Attorney Bobby Bland painted a dark, detailed picture of Clark as making everything about him.

Clark maintained until the end, he was attempting to drive a demon out of his wife and that he never had any intention of killing her.

The jury didn't see it that way. Family members refused to comment on the outcome of the case. Bland commended the jury for delivering what he called a quick, right verdict.

Clark will not be eligible for parole for 30 years. He does have the option to appeal his verdicts.
