Alpine Library Receives Large Donation

ALPINE - The Alpine Public Library has received its largest corporate donation yet as work continues on a new facility.

The American Electric Power Foundation gave $100,000 Tuesday to help fund the completion of the new library.

AEP officials said they were proud to be able to donate the funds which will help with construction, including finishing the interior and installing an energy efficient HVAC system.

The current Alpine library has 3,800 square feet of space. The new building will have 8,500 square feet and is going up on West Avenue E.

The new library will cost $1.4 million and should be finished in 2011.
