A Seminole woman gets caught with a wad of cash trying to cross the border in El Paso.

The money was hidden inside a slow cooker hidden under a mattress.

Nearly $144,000 was wrapped up in foil and put in zip lock bags.

Customs and border agents arrested 45 year old Margaretha Reimer- Giesbrecht from Seminole.

Her car was picked for a random check and that's when agents found the dough.

It's not illegal to carry that much money across the border but by law, you have to declare anything $10,000 or higher.

Agents seized Giesbrecht's car and the cash.

She remains in the El Paso jail.

No bond has been set.
