The former leader of the Latin Kings Street gang isn't getting a break.

A federal appeals court upheld Luis Nava's prison sentence.

Nava was sentenced to 22 years in prison for distributing cocaine and marijuana from big spring.

Nava appealed his sentence, claiming that his leadership position in the Latin Kings did not mean he was also leading a conspiracy to distribute drugs around West Texas.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled this past week that Nava ran a Big Spring drug house and gave orders to members of the gang.
