MIDLAND - The new Midland Superintendent has a challenge on his hands.

On Tuesday night, the Midland School Board approved a list of objectives for him.

They're asking Ryder Warren to come up with a plan to improve any "unacceptable" ratings the schools might have in regards to standardized testing.

They're also asking him to develop additional technology programs within the district.

"Technology is huge; we need so many more computers and so much more technology than we have. Unfortunately, that's a real big expense item, so we've asked him to develop a strategic plan for technology," School Board Secretary, Karen Nicholson, said.

The school board is also asking to see an emphasis on the district's English as a Second Language program.
