BIG SPRING - Big Spring water issues came to a boil on Tuesday at the City Council meeting.

Members voted to table a proposed water rate increase.

They're considering passing on a hike to customers after the Colorado River Municipal Water District passed its cost increases on to the city.

Meanwhile, construction of a water reclamation plant in town could begin as soon as next year.

The council approved the sale of city property near FM 700 for the project.

The aquatic center also caused a splash.

After some heated debate, the City Council approved giving the bid for the project to Neuman pools of Wisconsin.

The price tag sits at just over three million dollars.

And the Heart of the City Park in downtown will stay dry for now.

No one made a motion to amend the city's ordinance to allow booze to be sold there.
