WINKLER COUNTY - The son of Kermit's Police Chief made his first court appearance before a Winkler County grand jury.

17-year-old Justin Williams, son of Chief Scott Williams, was formally charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault on Thursday.

Last month, Williams allegedly kidnapped a girl a knife point, then sexually assaulted her.

He was arrested and bonded out of jail on a $50,000 bond.

The grand jury recommended his bond be raised to $250,000 on each count.

No word if the judge has taken their advice.

His trial is expected to start sometime in March of next year.
