New details on the former Jal city manager, charged with embezzlement.

She'll have to wait a little while longer to get her case heard by a judge.

Preliminary hearings for Eva Sanchez Bruce have been put on hold after two local judges recused themselves.

Hobbs Magistrate Lemma White declined to hear the case citing she knows the defendant and her husband personally.

Magistrate Jack Bailey declined to hear the case earlier this month.

Sanchez Bruce, who resigned as City Manager in July, is accused of taking a check for $150,000 made to the city of Jal, and depositing it in her own personal bank account.
Her defense attorney says the check was deposited by mistake.
