A Fort Stockton man is behind bars in the Midland County Jail facing federal drug trafficking charges after authorities say they caught him with half a million dollars in cocaine.
Midland Police and Ector County deputies arrested 28-year-old Rafael Estrada after a traffic stop on Highway 80 and Faudree Road on Thursday night around 6:30p.m.
Officers say they found 18 kilos of cocaine in Estrada's SUV.
Street value of the dangerous drug was $540,000.
The case has been turned over to federal authorities.
