EUNICE, N.M. - Weather is being blamed for a power outage in Eunice that occurred on Thursday morning.

More than 1,100 customers were left in the dark just before 10:30 Eunice time when an XCEL substation went out.

Company officials tell NewsWest 9, they had the power back on in about 25 minutes.

Eunice city officials say their back-up generators kicked in keeping the power running at city hall, along with the fire and police stations.
