BIG SPRING - Power was out for about 3,000 Big Spring customers Tuesday night. The outage lasted for about an hour and a half, beginning at 8:35 pm.

Oncor electric delivery spokesman Jim Clements says a major substation failed Tuesday evening and the power outage affected residents and businesses in northeast Big Spring. One big concern was street and traffic lights were also not working during the outage.

Oncor says crews were able to get power back on by switching power sources. The cause of the outage was not known as of late Tuesday night and the substation in question was still off line, but all power was back on, according to Oncor.
