More than four months after the discovery of a body on the east side of Odessa, Ector county authorities have identified the victim.
The preliminary autopsy report is in and forensic investigators have identified the man as 68-year-old William Griffin.
They believe he died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Griffin's body was found back in April in a field near the Trestles Apartment Complex.
Authorities were unable to identify the man or even determine a cause of death because the body was so badly decomposed.
We're told Griffin was been reported missing back in January.
