ODESSA - Orphan dogs and cats in Odessa have a new place to stay while they wait to be adopted.

The Odessa Humane Society just added ten new kennels in an effort to relieve overcrowding.

Right now, they're holding almost 130 dogs and more than 40 cats.

The materials to build the new kennels were recycled from an old mobile home and the shelter also used some donation money to buy fencing and steel.

The price tag for the expansion was about $800.00.

Directors at the shelter say they're hoping to add several more kennels in the near future.
