KERMIT - NewsWest 9 is learning more about the alleged incident that landed a former Kermit police officer in cuffs.

An official complaint, released by the Winkler County Attorney's Office, says James Slayton touched a woman's chest while she worked at a Kermit donut shop.

He is also accused of performing a sexual act in the shop's restroom. Slayton is charged with Official Oppression, which is a Class A Misdemeanor.

Slayton has already bonded out of jail after being arrested last week by the Texas Rangers. As NewsWest 9 first reported Monday, Slayton may be working on a plea deal with the county attorney's office.
