KERMIT - Charges have officially been filed on a former Kermit police officer who's accused of using his badge for sexual favors.

The County Attorney started the criminal process on Monday against James Slayton.
He's been charged with official oppression by sexual harassment.

Slayton resigned earlier this summer after the Texas Rangers opened an investigation against him.

A plea deal is expected by the end of the week.
