Instead of packed venues, an Odessa singer will now be performing to crowds in federal prison for almost 20 years.

27-year-old Jose Alfredo Porras-Muniz, who is also the lead vocalist for the Tejano Band Los Diamentes De Ojinaga, was sentenced to 19 ½ years in federal prison.

This stems from two separate drug smuggling cases.

In the latest case, he smuggled 3,000 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico.
