HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - Hobbs Police have arrested a shooting suspect.
30-year-old Reynaldo Orona was located at a home in the 400 block of East Alston in Hobbs around 8:15 Thursday morning.
Investigators tell NewsWest 9 he shot 31-year-old Sergio Garza in the abdomen after an argument. The shooting happened at a home on east Wolfcamp just before 1:00a.m. Wednesday morning.
Police say it all started when Orona showed up at the home and started banging on a window. Garza and a woman confronted him at the door.
That's when Orona used a pistol to break the screen door and shot Garza. Garza was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital.
We're told Orona took off in a pick-up which he later dumped. Orona is being held on a $600,000 bond and is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Burglary and Tampering with Evidence.
