MIDLAND - A property tax hike is officially on the way for Midlanders.

On Monday morning, the City County voted to approve it.

The meeting was the second reading on the budget and tax rate and now it's finalized.

Property taxes in the Tall City will increase by five percent.

This has been a heated issue from the start.

The council held a meeting last Tuesday morning but had to recess and meet again in the evening to give everyone a chance talk.

The budget will go into effect on October 1st.
