Midland College Proposes Tax Decrease

MIDLAND - While the City of Midland is still getting an earful from residents mad over a tax increase, Midland College is proposing a lower tax rate.

Midland College trustees are considering a 2010 property tax rate of $0.1699 per $100 valuation. This would be 1.18 percent decrease from the 2009-2010 rate.

Two public hearings will be held on the proposed tax rate. They will be at 4:00 p.m. on August 31 and September 7 in the Gibson Board Room located in the Pevehouse Administration Building on the MC campus.
