ECTOR COUNTY--Investigators are learning a lot more about what happened early Sunday morning. They now say this deadly accident actually started as a fight at an after hours club, early Sunday morning.

Detectives say, three men were in the pick-up that left Club Patron on University and FM  1936.  According to witnesses, they saw the pickup leaving the parking lot headed East on University.  It was the same pickup that was involved in an accident on the 4700 block of West University, just before 5:00 a.m.

When officers got there, they found the pickup, with about 9 to 10 bullet holes in it.  The driver, 23-year-old Luis Roman, was thrown out of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy on Roman showed he received a bullet wound to his back right shoulder.  Authorities think that's what caused him to swerve.  Another passenger, Alex Marquez, was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.  The third person in the pickup has been identified as 23-year-old Arnulfo Marquez.

Roman's exact cause of death will not be known until final autopsy results come in.  Ector County deputies tell NewsWest 9, the shots were fired from a black SUV.
