ODESSA - Students and teachers aren't the only ones getting ready for the upcoming school year.
Drivers need to get ready too.
School zones will be back in effect next Monday, August 23rd.
Ector County ISD, Odessa Police and Odessa CrimeStoppers are kicking off the 'Slow Down for Back to School' program this week to remind drivers that students will be in those school zones when the lights are flashing.
Officials say a safe start to the school year is the top priority.
Speeding through a school zone can cost you up to $200.00.
