HOWARD COUNTY - It's helping keep kids in class in Howard County.
A new truancy program looks like it's working.
So County Commissioners gave the green light to continue funding it.
50% of the students caught cutting class passed the course.
And more than 60 % of parents ticketed for not keeping their kids in school, also completed the program.
The program is expected to get some fine tuning.
Tardy kids and the parents may be referred directly to the truancy program before they're ticketed for cutting class.
