MAVERICK COUNTY, TEXAS - After more than 10 years on the run, a Pecos County murder suspect is behind bars in south Texas.

30-year-old Fabian Castaneda was arrested Thursday night in Eagle Pass.

He was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Javier Tellez, Junior back in March of 1999.

According to Pecos County Sheriff Cliff Harris, Castaneda shot Tellez several times in a barn off of 7D Road east of Fort Stockton, then dumped the body alongside the road several miles away.

Castaneda was arrested at the time but we're told he posted bond and disappeared.

He's behind bars thanks to an FBI tip.

Sheriff Harris hopes to bring Castaneda back to Fort Stockton next week.
