Police Searching for Serial Bank Robber in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, NEW MEXICO - A serial robber knocks off two banks in Carlsbad on Thursday and police need your help finding the man.

On Thursday morning, officers responded to the first robbery to the Pioneer Bank.

Witnesses say a man entered the bank approached the teller and demanded cash.

He took the money and fled on foot.

A short time later, the Western Commerce Bank on south Canyon was robbed in the same fashion.

Police have released a description of the man police are looking for.

He's approximately in his 40's or 50's, 5'11" tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

He was wearing a blue t-shirt and a Miami Heat baseball cap.

Police believe this man has ripped off other banks around the county.
