HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - The Hobbs man who confessed to killing his estranged wife showed up in court for the first time on Monday.
39-year-old Eric Davis was arraigned and given a preliminary hearing for August 12th.
Davis was in the middle of a divorce with is wife Patsy.
He told police he beat her to death when she came home to pick up a few items at their home.
Davis later took police to the location where he buried her body, which was about 50 miles outside of Hobbs.
He was arrested on Friday for kidnapping, murder and tampering with evidence.
He remains in jail on a 1.5 million dollar bond.
