City Manager in Jal Resigns

JAL, NEW MEXICO - A scandal in Jal, New Mexico, the City Manager turned in her resignation on Thursday.

Back in June, Eva Sanchez-Bruce was placed on paid leave after the city began an internal investigation on possible violations of city and state policy.

During a special board meeting, the Council unanimously accepted her resignation.

The Mayor of Jal tells NewsWest 9, the Council lost confidence in their City Manager.

There are no details on exactly what Sanchez-Bruce is accused of, but the Mayor says the investigation is on going.

Sanchez held City Manager position since 2008.
