Two Killed, Three Injured After Accident in Presidio County

PRESIDIO COUNTY - An accident in Presidio County killed two and sent three to the hospital, including a young child.

It happened about 40 miles south of Marfa on Highway 67 on Saturday evening.

State troopers tell NewsWest 9, their roads were extremely wet after rain showers moved through and a two-door dodge lost control slamming  into a chevy pick-up.

The driver of the Dodge, 47-year-old Amanda Orozco is in critical condition at the Big Bend Medical Center.

Her passenger, Rafaela Orozco, died at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up, 59-year-old Genovevo Armendariz of Midland is in critical condition, along with the 4-year-old child riding with him.

The other passenger in that car, 55-year-old Elva Armendariz, died at the scene.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, they were all wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
