HOWARD COUNTY - Drinking and driving is a deadly mix. On Thursday, Howard County probation officials gave drivers an up close and personal view of what could happen if you get behind the wheel drunk.

Adult and juvenile probation in Howard County wanted to bring awareness to young and old alike about the dangers of getting behind the wheel drunk.

The probation office brought in several tests to show them how alcohol impairs their judgment. They invited Stop DWI to help do the alcohol tests on the public. They also brought along a car that was involved in a drunk driving accident. A young girl died inside the vehicle back in 2006, and ever since, her family has been trying to get the word out to help prevent accidents like this.

"That night, I found out it was caused by a drunk driver I decided I wanted to donate it and start making a difference, can't be silent anymore. 13,000 people are killed every year by drunk drivers. That's about 13,000 other people who made a very bad choice," Debra Linton, whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver, said.
