MIDLAND - Friends and family are remembering a young Midland woman as a kind hearted person who wanted to touch people's lives.
23-year-old Karah Brooks was killed early Sunday morning while boating with friends at Lake LBJ near Austin.
According to Texas Parks and Wildlife officials, the accident happened along the Colorado River arm of the lake.
They tell NewsWest 9, the boat Brooks was in ran into rocks on the lake.
Game wardens aren't releasing any other details on the crash at this time since they're still investigating.
We're told a memorial for Brooks will be held at Stonegate Fellowship on Thursday afternoon.
The family is asking well wishers to make a donation to the Stonegate Youth Ministry instead of sending flowers.
