ECTOR COUNTY - A 16-year-old teen has died after a car chase in Ector County on Sunday morning.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, Deputies were called to the 400 block of south Damascus in reference to a disturbance call. While officers were on the scene, a black Chevrolet pickup drove by and witnesses said the truck caused the disturbance.
The pick-up sped off and Deputies began a short pursuit. The chase ended when the pickup crashed into a fence in the 13500 block of Triple Crown. Two of the occupants in the truck took off and lead officers on a short chase and were later apprehended and transported to the hospital for their injuries.
The third person in the pickup, 16-year-old Uriel Urias, died at the scene of the accident due to injuries he sustained.
The driver, 21-year-old Alonso Rodriguez, has been charged with felony evading. His passenger, 18-year-old Alfonso Rodriguez has been charged with misdemeanor evading.
